Spring Baseball Update

I hope you all are staying healthy and safe and had a successful fall semester. As we prepare for the 2021 Spring Season, I wanted to give you an update of what we’ve been working on. Since the CHSAA season doesn’t officially start until, April 26, 2021 we (the area high school coaches) have put together a “pre-season” season that will start games on March 13, 2021. This will consist of Poudre, Fort Collins, Rocky Mountain, Windsor, Mountain View and possibly a few others. Games would be doubleheaders on Saturdays and single games during the week. Times and locations could vary, but most games would be played at City Park for Varsity and other area fields for lower levels. This is still very fluid, as we wait to see if PSD will allow us to use our fields and the city will allow us to use their fields. The week leading up to tryouts on April 26th, we would play the “City Series” again like we did last spring. I would like all those hoping to play during the CHSAA season to participate in the “pre-season” season. We could have restrictions from the county/city on how many participants we can have but until then we will hope for normal size rosters with tryouts in February. This will be run through FCBC since PSD doesn’t sanction this season. The “pre-season” schedule will be posted on the website if it’s not already.

This year more than ever we will have to be ready to hit the ground running. With 16 or 18 games from May 3- June 5, we can’t afford to take time to get ready, we need to be ready. If something falls through with this pre-season, March 1st would be the official day of “pre-season” workouts. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.

As always if you all have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact me.  For those participating in Season B & C good luck and I look forward to seeing you all for Season D.
