Update From The Board

As you know sports seasons have been pushed back in 2021.  At this time, it seems our 16 game season will run from April 26-June 3 with playoffs the week after for varsity.  Tryouts would likely be the week before.  Per CHSSA rules, coach can have contact 8 weeks prior so off season workouts would begin in February sometime.  There will not be a spring break out of state trip.

Leading up to our later season, parents can support the program in a variety of ways:

  • Many of our board members are parents of seniors so we are asking for any interested parents to step into the board roles with us this winter to review our finances and make plans for the spring and beyond.
  • Due to the lost revenue of not having our snack shack open all summer, we will need to generate funds to support the needs of our program. We currently are in the black by about $3000 which is good!  But equipment and maintenance are expensive.  If any of you have businesses or companies that you would be interested in asking to support our program through advertising on a banner, please let Shannon Hixon know at shannonhixon@gmail.com or Ann at  landainco@comcast.net especially after the new year.  All banners funded last year will receive an extra year of advertising.  Banners capture dollars in our community so our fundraising isn’t all raised by us.
  • Restaurant fundraisers are a fun way of getting our community together while raising dollars for our program but with the economy right now, our local businesses are trying to just stay afloat. We are sensitive to their situations.  Stay tuned for opportunities as they arise.
  • Field maintenance will commence early spring so look for announcements on how you can help prepare our fields for play!

The board hopes your family is staying safe and healthy.  We appreciate your feedback and support as we navigate these new waters this year in athletics. We will communicate more information as it becomes available. Things seem to be changing alot lately.
